Direct or Rapid?

If you want to go to Florence from Siena there are two types of bus to choose from. One is diretta (direct) and the other is rapida (rapid).

Just looking at the title might be confusing. Which one is faster? Rapid or Direct? And of course few of the drivers speak English.

Here's the clue. The Rapid goes straight through highway and took about 1 hour 15 minutes. But the Direct is not really direct since it will go through small towns (there are many between Siena and Florence) and took about 1 hour 40 minutes.

So remember, in Tuscany (and maybe only here) Rapid is faster and more direct than Direct.
