Next Stop: Napoli

I know what you think, Napoli is not that far from Tuscany but:

"We are pleased to inform that the organizing committee of the International Workshop on Behavioural Game Theory and Experiments has selected your paper entitled "Social Distance, Moral Property Right and Value of Gratitude in Dictator Game" for a presentation"

The conference is quite prestigious and attended by many eminent economists (Collin F. Camerer will also present his paper, hopefully I am not in the same session with him). I'd say its on a higher level than the one in Malaysia.

Plus I like the behavioral and experimental economics alot, I believe it will shape much of economics science in the future. Actually the submitted paper resulted from a term paper in Behavioral Game Theory course in Universiteit van Amsterdam, just need to actually write the long plan revision that I already had in mind.

But now I am still not finish writing the paper for Malaysia conference *sigh*

Ups, I Did it Again!

No, I am not a fan of Britney Spears and I did not play with your love (at least I did not meant to do it) .

But I just co-found and elected chairman of Associazione degli Studenti Indonesiani di Siena (ASIS) or Indonesian Students Association in Siena (ISAS). Or PPI-Siena

This is the fifth of the kind after HMI FEUI, Indonesian Economics & Development Student Association (IMEPI), Himma Foundation and PPI-Amsterdam.

Like Uncle Ben said in Spiderman: Remember, with great power. comes great responsibility...

Now must really go back to study

A new deal (for me and hopefully for Aceh)

Just accept a long standing offer to be columnist at Paras Indonesia, a bi-lingual Indonesian news and opinion website.
My first piece entitled "A Nobel Endorsement For Peace In Aceh" (you can read it here) about the impact of SBY's Nobel Prize nomination to Aceh's peace process.
May peace finally have a place in Aceh .

The Meaning of a Search

How does one find the meaning of life? One friend of mine told me that as a philosophy undergrad she had a course with the title of "The meaning of life." Imagine failing that course (and you thought failing introductory accounting was bad)

But as a prominent psychologist, Victor Frankl, noted life is a bout searching for meaning. The title of his book says it all, Man's Search for Meaning where humanity is an active pursuant instead of slave of inner and subcouncious as in Freudian school and shaped by outside influence as in Behavioral school. Too bad that this third Vienese School got so little attention in the modern psychology.

But that make me thinking. What if one succeed with the search and find the answer early. Then what to do with the rest of life? Should we continue to find another, higher and better, meaning? Maybe it is also meaningful to share your findings and try to make it happened in real world.

But on the mean time, I need to find the meaning of micro, macro and microeconometrics. Exam time is coming!

P.S.
*Just start another blog for joined writing on economics, development and other stuff with old friends (even a blog entitle La Vita Espressiva, the meaningful life, is not big enough to contain all life's meaning). Visit them at kaFE depok
*This piece is a tribute to all FEUI alumni out-there.
